The EU Office plays a pivotal role in advancing DESY's strategic engagement at the European level. Our strategy services include:

• Supporting DESY scientists in engaging with key strategic initiatives at the European level.
• Advising the DESY Board of Directors on European policy developments.
• Shaping the strategy of LEAPS, which is driving collaborative efforts among European synchrotron and FEL facilities. Annika Thies serves on the LEAPS Coordination Board, co-leads the LEAPS Strategy Group SG3-ERA, and contributes to the LEAPS Research and Development Board.
• Tracking policy developments and engaging with key stakeholders in Brussels, working closely with the Helmholtz Brussels Office and the Hanse Office, to ensure DESY’s voice is heard in European research and innovation discussions.
